I had this problem in the past. I had a small webcam, and ended up finding out which neighbor it was. I taped a nice letter on their doorkindly asking them to pick up after their dog and reminding their teen kids to do the same, without identifying myself… It happened again a few more times, I taped another note to their door reminding them again, nicely.
Then it happened again…
Finally, one night, I got a scooper, put the poop on a paper plate, put in the paper plate on the doorstep and taped another note. This time saying.
“Here’s your dog’s poop. Gross isn’t it? Please pick up after your dog. If you don’t I will, and leave it on your doorstep or if you prefer. somewhere else, like on your car.”
Didn’t happen for a long time. Then one time it happened again. Webcam said it was the same household… In the middle of the night, I got a pooper scooper, picked it up and flung the damn poop on their driveway…Funny thing is that the next day, as I was driving to work, saw the soccer mom out side scooping and washing the drive way..
Never had a problem again. (And the neighbor eventually moved out.)
Really, I’m a nice guy.. I asked a dozen of so times. And yes, I saw either her, her boys, her hubby walking the dog, the dog taking a dump, and not picking up on my webcam…every time…

I can’t believe how rude neighbors can be when you video tape them.

It’s on like Donkey Kong at flu’s house!!![/quote]Well, at the time my kid wasn’t potty trained yet, so it did cross my mind for a split second of getting those gross asian potty training pants with the split crotch and letting her do her thing on the neighbor’s lawn. But really, it was just a thought and only for a split second.. I know I wouldn’t be setting a good example for little flu though….Oh well… At times I feel like I’m such a redneck. I mean, duct tape is almost my best friend.

July 12, 2012 at 1:10 PM #747840jimmyleParticipantI have the same problem, a new dog poop pile every few days. I even stepped on it sometimes.
I was thinking about poison, but that is too mean :). My coworker suggested spreading some Cayenne Powder where the dogs poo and they will go away. I am going to buy this from Amazon and try.

July 12, 2012 at 1:55 PM #747845HobieParticipantThe animal doesn’t ingest the pepper. The smell irritates hence the deterrent.
Be sure to keep a bunch on hand as you have to reapply after every sprinkler session. Neighbor does this and thinks it works on rabbits as well.
Return to sender is my way. Shovel-ready jobs. (Couldn’t resist!)
BTW, in our hood it seems the kids not adults who forget to clean up.
July 12, 2012 at 2:19 PM #747846CDMA ENGParticipantBy best friend in HS little brother took care of thier yard. He had a lawn business and kept the yard immaculate as it was a way to attract business.
Anyway a family, who we refered to as the Bundy’s, lived across the street. They prefered dirt as thier front yard of choice. The Bundy’s dog perfered the lush and green lawn of my friend’s brother yard. Todd, my friends brother, asked several times if they would not let thier dog poop in the yard. I am sure not nicely as this is not his style but the Bundy’s didn’t comply.
He stop asking. Instead he purchased a 33 gallon trash can. Put a liner in it and started collecting one little poop at a time. 8 months went by and trash can was only about 75% full but he could not wait any longer to do it. About 10 PM that night with us standing in the garage Todd took his bounty and dumped all of it in front of thier front door.
Me and his brother he-hawed to five minutes straight. We never did find out the Bundy’s reaction but we never saw that dog again.
