sduuuuude,
Sorry but this is just a childish thread. This is school boy stuff and though well masked, to some extent shows some personality conflict you may have with PS, by putting her on the spot. Let’s be clear, this an internet blog and nobody is responsible for policing the content posted here but Rich. Sorry if this offends you but it is to make the point that your post was condescending and rude and I hate it when this happens on blogs.
Do you think someone will read Poway’s posts and topics just because it is up there? Do you think someone will not read your topic because it is buried under topics started by PS? If you post a topic that people are interested in, then they will keep that thread alive and this thread is a proof of that. The thread itself is a waste of time with no insight into housing bubble but people are interested and posted (including myself).
Poway and everone else, keep your posts coming and post whatever you want to share.
October 3, 2006 at 3:34 PM #37156sdduuuudeParticipantObviously you weren’t here Monday morning, when 11 of the active forum topics were by one person, many of which received 0 replies.
This may be childish thread, but it has more posts in it than all other threads, except a couple, in the last several weeks so it was obviously an issue important to the forum attendees. Plus, I think it helped powayseller focus on more important things and encouraged others to get involved.
I, too, hope everyone keeps their high-quality posts coming.
October 3, 2006 at 3:36 PM #37158hsParticipantQcomer, I agreed with you.
This is an internet blog. There is nothing wrong for PS to share her opinions here.If you don’t like PS’s posts, you don’t have to read it. Nobody has the right to tell PS to go away.
Without PS, this board is boring.
October 3, 2006 at 3:42 PM #37159VCJIMParticipantqcomer, what makes sdude’s post less valuable then PS’s? He is posting an active topic about someone else’s posts.
October 3, 2006 at 3:52 PM #37161PerryChaseParticipantWhere is powayseller and her posts? I miss her already. I appreciate her bringing articles and current news and links to our attention.
She does a service to us all by doing all the work so we can simply read. Without powayseller, this forum is boring and will die a slow death.
October 3, 2006 at 4:45 PM #37163(former)FormerSanDieganParticipantHopefully she is doing some research or getting her new business off the ground. In the mean-time I suggest that we drag out old Posts of hers. Sort of like a “Greatest Hits” collection.

That wasn’t the message.
The question was
“does she post too much?”
not
“should she go away?”October 3, 2006 at 6:50 PM #37175hsParticipantShe can post as many as she wants, as long as Rich does not complain since he is the host of this blog.
You don’t have to read or answer her posts if you don’t like them. You have your choice, too.
Is there a rule here that says everybody can only post up to 5 or 9 posts a day?
This is just an internet blog. Take it easy. Dude.
October 3, 2006 at 6:58 PM #37177AnonymousGuestsdrealtor pointed out the obvious. powaysellers copious amount of posts suggests her life is one dimentional. It is what it is. Ignore it or accept it for what it is. Pinpointing the market’s trend is impossible by anyone. Im sure most, if not all (despite number crunching none of us can validate as being empirically correct) are using anecdotal information as a guide to our current/future behavior. Education level is irrevelant (forgive my MBA from the academic powerhouse SDSU) here. I have enjoyed this site because I am a benefactor of selling three homes (1 in LA, one in aliso viejo and one downtown San Diego). I now rent with the expectation I will enter the market when evidence points to an increase in home values over a few months. I didnt need a degree to surmise this is a safe strategy. Powayseller seems to pontificate which can easily turn anyone off. The common demoninator here is our agreement that home values will decline.

October 7, 2006 at 11:05 PM #37466sdcellarParticipantNot to toot my own horn
Then don’t?
The forums were pretty quiet last weekend too except for your posts which nobody seemed to be responding to either.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I seem to recall I was interested in one or two of them, but there were so many, that it almost seemed to keep me from being able to gain interest and post to any particular one of them.
For what it’s worth, I stayed out of this whine fest, but I was thinking the same thing when this very topic came up last weekend (and now I’m afraid I may have started it again…)
As far as news is concerned, I get mine elsewhere. I’m sure some folks might be interested in having you do the legwork, but I’m not particularly. The one suggestion somebody made about you summarizing and linking to multiple “newsworthy” items in a single topic seemed like a good one if you’re moved to continue posting the news. Either that, or limit it to one or two interesting topics a day and see what folks do with them.
October 8, 2006 at 8:51 AM #37470sdduuuudeParticipantAnd it has been really nice. You are participating without being overbearing. I know this is like crack to you and you are looking for an excuse to spend 7 hours here, but don’t do it.
Maybe it just so happens that there isn’t that much going on and we don’t necessarily need someone to take over your role.
The quality of posts in general has been great, too. The threads have been interesting, with not much to weed through.
And if you do decide to fire up the news mill, please make a daily news thread so we don’t have 15 in a day.
October 8, 2006 at 12:24 PM #37473powaysellerParticipantIt’s been so quiet around here, I’ve gotten a little bored, so I spend more of my internet time on other blogs, like roubini, itulip, dean baker… I think the thousands of people who come here every day want to read, not spend their time researching and posting.
This site draws a very high caliber of people, and they are busy working and spending weekends with family, and they want the housing news and forecast delivered to them, not have to work for it.
