If Americans would quit using drugs Mexico would be a lot safer.[/quote]
Really? How do you explain the other 300 years of violence and corruption in Mexico?

Rent, but don’t buy. Only Mex citizens can own property and that won’t stop the authorities from seizing it if they feel so inclined or you have to pay them, ‘comida’. ( bribe )
Sounds like many of us have crossed paths over the years traveling in Mex. Surf trips, fishing, camping, motorcycles. Locals were always welcoming ( and still are ), but I will not go back now.
Too many stories close to home about robberies, attempted rapes, shakedown by Federalies under threat of arrest to risk it any more. Very sad.

August 3, 2010 at 7:52 AM #585702briansd1GuestI can’t say that I go all the time. But I’ve been to Mexico City recently. It’s a huge metropolis just like any big city in the world, in my opinion.
I’m not much of a beach person because we have beaches right here. Cancun seems perfectly safe to me.
