Heh. I’ve been in san diego since 96, and in and around the bay area… I have yet to go to mexico.. I guess I live a sheltered live.

I have some die hard fishermen friends who still go, but they fly in, so it is probably different than driving down there.

The interior of the country is pretty nice, I’ve been to Jalisco since then. I’ve also been to Quintana Roo/Yucatan as well as DF and Morelos and felt safe there.
If Americans would quit using drugs Mexico would be a lot safer.
