I’m still waiting for somebody to provide evidence that of a single American Tourist murdered in Tijuana or Northern Baja region in the last five years. I’m not saying it hasn’t happened, but I have yet to see the news report that it has..Someone prove me wrong…
Meanwhile, the fact that American Citizens have been murdered is another story. If a Mexican Drug gang member who happens to be born in U.S. is murdered that doesn’t affect my security as an innocent tourist. There are MANY U.S citizens working for drug cartels across the border. Most murders are clearly related to this.
There were three American teens (from Chula Vista) murdered several months back in TJ. Two girls and a guy, I believe. I recall reading about it. But… I believe the guy had a connection to the drug gangs in TJ – I want to say a close friend or family member. But they were murdered execution style. Actually, I’m going to do a search because now I’m kind of curious if there’s any additional info about it. It happens. But it’s pretty rare.

Actually, it was four “young people” instead of three. And it was last year. Sounds like they were mixed up with the wrong crowd in TJ.

There’s 4 dead. DZ does it take being murdered? I guess rape, robbed, extorted & beaten on your vacation is OK in your book. Give up the “murdered” claim, it is pathetic. If you have to be an experienced traveler and only go under certain conditions it is not worth it.
