MEXICO CITY (March 16) — The killing Sunday of three people connected to the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juárez undermines the popular notion that Americans are immune to the Mexican drug war, observers say.

August 3, 2010 at 2:42 PM #585897barnaby33ParticipantI goto Valle de Bravo down near Mexico city every year. Never had a problem. I fly out of the TJ airport to Toluca. Of course Valle is where a lot of rich Mexicans have their lake homes so the amount of cops there is large to say the least.

I’ll be back to Ensenada next month to go fishing and back to Mexico again whenever a solid swell lines up with a weekend.
Is there more fish in Mexico?
Just curious what attracts you so frequently back to Mexico?
Yes, there are more fish in Mexico 😉
I am attracted mostly to the uncrowded surf but I think the fishing is better there too. Most of the longer range fishing charter boats out of SD head nearly due south from Point Loma. I prefer to drive (70mph) and sleep in a bed than do an overnight on a boat (15mph). I have had better luck (more fish) with the charters out Ensenada than out of SD.
Going to Mexico is not for everyone (apparently even less so for the Pigg population) but it can be a beautiful place. It makes think of what southern California must have been like way back when.
@ deadzone … I heard Salsi was letting surfers back in but I haven’t tried it since it was closed. Never caught the point good there, but had many fun sessions at the reef.
