The Fed is stepping in by accepting equities (i.e., stocks) at the Fed Discount Window.
worked last time this happened.
but now bad news is worse.
When has the Fed ever accepted equities as collateral at the Discount Window?
Never.

1) I’m buying lots more gold today. I’m also kicking myself for not buying gold a week ago when it was at Blue Light Special pricing.
2) Anyone on this forum STILL think I’m going to lose money on my short oil industry bet? Dream on. I held onto that “DUG” (2x short the DOW oil and gas index) and now that position is net very positive. However, I acknowledge that position was greatly helped by the decline of the overall stock market.
SOON my pretties, it will be time to close the oil shorts AND BUY BUY BUY the energy markets.
My prediction on overall markets? I’m still holding belief we will see the S&P500 fall to about 1,000. It is going to get MUCH uglier before this is all over.
And how do you think my PUTS on the S&P500 are doing now? I bought those when the S&P500 was about 1400. Oh Baby, those options went up like a rocket as this market fell 20%. There is nothing like the joy of massive leverage when markets are moving in your favor.

AIG down almost 60% on the day – time to buy? The world’s largest Insurance Group can’t go down, cai it?
It’s about time people realized how messed up this economy is.
