Obama is no different than Bush. He just has different advisers. They are both owned by the same Corporations and you who are blinded by your simplistic visions of a better world are no better than those you spent eight years attacking as fascists. You are the same.
So now one political party only has a strong majority instead of a super-majority.
And because of this, you have never been so happy in your life?
I seriously hope that your life has other, more meaningful, sources of joy.
Pri_dk: If there is a more meaningful source of joy in these dark times than seeing people finally stand up for themselves and reject the abuse of a supermajority determined to ram a bill down our throats and up our a**es – a bill that was a boon to insurance companies and a curse to small businesses and working families who can’t absorb more taxes – if there is a more meaningful source of joy than knowing this FrankenParty has finally been stopped in its tracks and is being FORCED to re-think its insane strategy of completely ignoring the voices of those they are elected to govern – then you need to share your little secret source of meaningful joy with all of us. Because right about now I think the majority of Americans are just ecstatic that voters SOMEWHERE are paying attention and exercising the political muscle that we were all given by the framers of our Constitution.

I know lots of people that are elated because their football team won in the playoffs (not many folks from around here, though.)
People like to pick a team, cheer for their side. It’s always fun to see your team win and the other team lose. It brings joy.
But politics is real, not some game that has no influence over our life, right? So there is genuine reason to be happy.
The political party that won an election on the other side of the country for one office (out of hundreds that influence the laws) is going to tip the scales and make everything better.
Because eventually the guy on our team who just won may be able to influence policy and lower taxes for corporations and high-income earners and eventually that may create more economic growth and eventually that may create more demand for my particular skills and eventually this might improve my income and then life will be full of joy.
That’s how it’s going to work, right?
I seem to remember hearing the exact same thing in 1994. And there has been nothing but joy since then.
