Delusional in Coronado

The wife and I left Coronado in 2006 due to new jobs on the East Coast. Fortunately, it seems our time in exile is coming to an end and we are looking to return to Coronado some time in the Feb/March time frame of 2009. I have been watching the market there and am hoping that we end up with some significant price declines by the time we move back. We are prepared to rent again but would really prefer to buy if the price is right. We would really like to find a nice Craftsman style cottage but most of the ones I have seen on SDlookup are still out of our price range – oh well…

I am familiar with the Billy Boxes(mostly because they were tearing down a lot of the nice Craftsman style ones that we liked to be replaced with the two unit boxes) but have not heard of the Cloud Condos. Not that we want to buy a condo but can anyone educate me to what they are? Thanks.

Some builders have taken single lots and built multiple freestanding homes on them. Imagine a long skinny lot. A house would be built on the front of the lot and one on the back. The back house has its own walkway down the side to the front of the lot. The back home has two tandem garages under it that are accessed through the alley. One of the tandem garages belongs to the back house and one belongs to the front house. The back house has a small patio sized yard between it and the front house. The front house has a front yard but no back yard. I have been in these condos:

The front house is basically four stories. It has a basement with laundry room, family room, bedroom and bathroom. The main floor has living room, kitchen and ½ bath. They are really nice but you are in an association with the house behind you. There are no fees because there are no shared areas except for the fact that the garage for the front house is under the back house.
