And this is with the TW 50Mb/s Internet service.
I’m assuming TW means Time Warner, which means you’re really on shared pipe.
You’ve got a 50mbps pipe limit, but the reality is anytime anybody is loading big shit, you’ll get bad jitter. I’ve got TW – 50 Mbps service and frankly, beginning of the day and early evening, their lag just sucks worse than our Presidential Candidates, IMHO.
October 9, 2016 at 8:42 PM #802010montanaParticipantI finally cut the cable cord about two months ago and went with Sling TV. We already had an Apple TV but when we signed up we took the offer to get another Apple TV for $89. We haven’t looked back since. The majority of the channels that we enjoyed are offered on Sling TV and they carry ESPN, FS1, P12 networks so I have plenty of College Football to watch. We are saving about $100/month and throwing that towards other forms of entertainment with the girls instead of parking ourselves in front of the TV. We have the Apple TV’s hard wired in our house and currently get 50+ mbps download speed

Also, recently switched from Time Warner to Rectum (I know they are the same now, but they are not). Had to spend an hour on the phone fighting Time Warner to switch me to the Rectum $39/mo 100Mb/s plan from my old $59/mo 50Mb/s TW plan.
OUT.

Not good if you need multiple locations.
Limits on account sharing or simultaneous streams?
Oh yes. The biggest restriction is that all TV devices must be tied to a single address, which means no sharing passwords with your cousin across the country or bringing your console to a friend’s house. If you violate this rule, you may be blocked from using the service; and to make things even scarier, Sony says you can only change your own address one time. (We’ve received one report of problems with dynamic IP addresses due to Sony’s location restrictions, though this seems to be an issue with the internet provider mapping IP addresses to the wrong location.)

I don’t consider it stealing when companies allow you to have up to a certain amount of users. Netflix, Sling, and others aren’t idiots and can easily limit the amount of users if necessary. They don’t because they want to remain competitive. For instance, my father shares his Netflix account with my sister and I and we have our own profiles set up and everything.

It’s not stealing.
What if you have several homes and kids in college? The idea of a household in one physical house is old fashioned.October 14, 2016 at 2:41 PM #802297bababooeyParticipantIf I had several homes and kids in collage I could afford to spend an extra $7.99 a month.
October 14, 2016 at 2:51 PM #802298spdrunParticipantOr if you have a good uplink speed, just set up a VPN server at home… 🙂

I’m pretty sure that is against ToS.

Is it $7.99 a month or a whole another VUE account for each location.
BTW, I’m not feeling sorry for Sony. They owned the portable player, then bought into music and movies. They tried to restrict everything and missed out on the MP3 player. So many missteps.
December 9, 2016 at 6:55 PM #804409bababooeyParticipantHi cheap skates…
I assume I’m not the only one which has tried DirectTv NOW service for $35.
I’d say the pros are:
Cheaper then Sony Vue (I don’t consider Sling a contender)
Available on Apple Tv
For the price/channel, it is the cheapest out thereCons:
It’s new, some growing pains
No cloud DVR like Sony VueDecember 9, 2016 at 7:01 PM #804410spdrunParticipantBittorrent is the world’s cloud DVR.
