I would believe no all cryptocurrency is the same. So some is definitely ponzi scheme as you can setup one yourself called scaredy coin.

January 26, 2021 at 2:59 PM #820481gzzParticipantPonzi scheme that causes massive environmental destruction as a side benefit. Chinese coal plants are even dirtier than ours and running full speed to power “miners” which themselves become toxic e-waste in 12-16 months after purchase.

January 27, 2021 at 1:41 AM #820486CoronitaParticipantAMC and Gamestop .
Oh my God , this is so 1999…
What the hell … It’s just hysterical …..
AMC, how the hell do you go up 145% in one day when almost all of your theaters are still closed, lol.
This is so fucked up.
January 27, 2021 at 8:05 AM #820487gzzParticipantI have to much dignity to buy gme. But i made 24k today in a brand new position in FIZZ I opened yesterday afternoon plus irbt.
This doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I think will keep going another day or two.

But the value of a company can’t be reduced to its expected future earnings. One must also consider a wide range of other factors. Among them: How much nostalgia does the firm inspire in users of the Reddit forum r/wallstreetbets? And would a rally in GameStop shares be funny? Which is to say, has the firm crossed the “so bad it’s good” threshold, as inadvertent comedic masterpieces like The Room or Troll 2 had done before it?America’s top hedge funds failed to ask these questions. Fortunately, the collective wisdom of rational market participants ensured that they were eventually incorporated into GME’s stock price
January 27, 2021 at 7:46 PM #820489CoronitaParticipantThe irony of all this a lot hedge funds lost a lot of money to a bunch of kids that were trading from accounts in “Robinhood”…….lol
January 28, 2021 at 2:50 PM #820491gzzParticipantMy 1-day profit of almost 40k on FIZZ and IRBT evaporated today and I sold roughly at break even (up maybe 8k).
I kept a bit of both, but I am not made for momentum investing on meme stocks.
To make up for the remaining long position in the ultra-shorted sector, I opened a short in the mall reit MAC. It is a really awful business to be in.
January 28, 2021 at 3:26 PM #820493scaredyclassicParticipantok, what about slv. can reddit really break the backs of the shorts?
January 28, 2021 at 5:02 PM #820494CoronitaParticipantI think they are more likely to break the back of Robinhood, 3 weeks before their IPO….lolol
Robinhood Is Said to Draw on Bank Credit Lines Amid Tumult
I think we’re hitting irrational exuberance 2.0. I’m getting out…
When the stock market is the most talked about thing on my work slack channel, even by people who never owned a share of stock….it’s time to get out… similar to when the airport shuttle driver gives you a lecture of how easy it was to make money flipping san diego real estate back in the 2006-7 timeframe, it was time to get out… lol….
The “watercooler talk” contrarian indicator, lol.

Agreed…and yet…its hard to get out
January 29, 2021 at 7:18 AM #820498CoronitaParticipantLooks like robinhood got $1billion in finding to continue this charade….I guess long enough at least for their ipo….meanwhile, amc and gamestop rebounds….lunacy…but I have to say….well done reddit kiddos…
one of my officemate is this 24year old… is total WallStreetBets member. He cashed in on his Gamestop call options. $1.3million haul…. I’m surprised he’s still working with us….lol…
Says he’s gonna use it to pay off his student loan and car loan. Wants to put the rest in a free and clear condo so he doesn’t have to pay rent …
Jokingly I asked if PCG was on WSB’s radar anytime soon, lol.
January 29, 2021 at 9:11 AM #820499scaredyclassicParticipantShouldnt he at least wait a little to see if dems forgive some student loans?
