not enough info. The size of the kitchen, the quality of the cabinets, granite and appliances can vary wildly. I did a total remodel on my rental for $8k with everything you mention. I got a quote for my own house and it was $65k for everything I wanted. I did both bathrooms myself on my rental and those cost $2000 each but I did not replace the tub or toilet. That was just flooring, paint, fixtures and new vanities, I did resurface the tub/shower enclosures.

What are the dimensions of the kitchen? A lot depends on the materials too. The numbers can vary quite a bit.
Search for “kitchen remodelling”.

January 17, 2011 at 7:25 PM #655820jpinpbParticipantI am actually investigating what it costs to do a kitchen remodel. This is what I’m encountering when I try to get some quotes:
“Can you give me an idea how much it will cost?”
“How much do you want to spend?”
“Nothing fancy, something simple, middle of the road. Can you give me a range?”
“How much do you want to spend?”
“I don’t want to go crazy. I’m on a budget.”
“We can work w/in your budget.”
“Okay. Can you give me a quote, more or less.”
“How much do you want to spend?”Honestly, a game back and forth. I can’t get any numbers. No one wants to give me a quote. Like they don’t want you to shop around. If they have any idea you have money, they will toss some high number out there. Then you say, “Ah, forget it. I won’t remodel.” “Oh, well, we can work w/you and see what we can do on price.”
I am still trying to figure it out. I have about a 90 square foot kitchen. I can go check out appliances and have an idea what that’ll run. But other than that, I guess the possibilities are endless.
I went to Home Depot to check out cabinets. Do you want hardwood? Any glass in the cabinets? What design door face? Do you want deep drawers? What kind of trim? Lazy Susans? Quiet close? Any pull-out shelving? Do you want any lighting in the cabinets, under the cabinets? Etc. Etc.
It will make you dizzy. That’s just cabinets. If you have to rewire or replumb anything, well, of course, that will just add to the price. Like if you want to put recessed canned lighting.
If you find someone to break down and give you any quotes, let me know!!
