ParticipantWhy not build a tunnel under the bay on the base side of the Island (over by Nimitz/Rosecrans)? Is tunnelling under water that much more prohibitively expensive?

ParticipantLOL, my hater comment was an obvious Lebowski reference. Gary, we already pay for the infrastructure that gets you to the base, and for those who visit in a thousand myriad ways. You’ve probably never seen what this place looks like on July 5th.
The lure of Coronado isn’t the beach for those of us who live here, but the peace and quiet that pervades the place normally. Alas, normal has become more and more rare as time has gone by, and the bridge toll is the dividing line.
If I were mayor, I’d issue parking passes to residents, and make everyone else pay to come on the island. Then you’d be paying for the costs assumed by the residents of Coronado for your untaxed presence. Then Ocean Blvd wouldn’t be an oil slick, there wouldn’t be gang graffiti, and all kinds of crime would disappear overnight.

ParticipantBTW Gary, I’ll be glad to send the boom box assholes to your neighborhood, where you’re far more tolerant of bad behavior.
