Do it yourself – not rocket science.
Agree that it’s not too difficult as a DIY job. It helps to have two people when lifting into place.
For sure you certainly don’t need a licensed contractor, just a handyman type.
The microwave I had in the cabinet died on me. I went to Lowe’s and they told me they don’t do “custom installation”. Anyone here knows a good contractor that will do installation of countertop microwave with trim kit inside the cabinet? Thanks.
Is this a microwave or microwave/oven dual unit? FWIW, my “dead” microwave (it’s micro/oven dual unit) was to cost me at least $1500 to get a new one. After some research, I got a handyman to replace the magnetron for a few hundred bucks and it’s been as good as new.

This is a countertop microwave with the trim kit. The problem is the standard trim kit width is 25.5” long; and this is about 1.5” longer than the cut out box that I have. The solution to solve this problem is to order a customize trim kit from a company in Orange County called Micro-Trim. I will give them a call.
