I think Romney should pick a black female as his VP running mate if he wants to do his pandering best.
April 16, 2012 at 10:13 PM #741774scaredyclassicParticipantpolitics is so extremely boring on piggington, for me.
however, at home we have been watching the PBS Vietnam documentary from 1983 and it is fascinating. lots of politics and lbj footage.
just an amazing documentary, but very very long. multidisc….not boring…

April 17, 2012 at 8:24 AM #741787NavydocParticipantIs that the one called “10,000 Days of War”? I heard that one was excellent, but have never gotten a chance to see it. My father in law want’s to see it as well. He has very vivid memeories of the war. He was a Colonel in the Lao army and watches everything he can. I’ve been trying to find it, but it can be hard (or expensive) to come by.

I haven’t watched it either.
My dad was in Laos with people such as Alexander Haig and Russian attaches who bartered goods for caviar. Exciting times he said.April 17, 2012 at 4:06 PM #741816briansd1Guest
And no politics.
It’s usually the losing side that can’t handle politics.
It usually starts with some rants, but then those posters can’t handle rebuttals and tit-for-tat. The side that dishes it out should be prepared for the same and more. I have to say I kinda enjoy beating the dead horse.

Well, voters who don’t like the policies of politicians better learn to get involved in politics.

How about offline? This is infinitely harder (actually it’s “work”) than sitting online complaining about the PTB and their “stupid” decisions.
Speaking from experience, working on a campaign or gathering signatures is not only exhausting but “enlightening,” to say the least. Maybe after having these experiences, the “online ranting blogger” might decide politics is better left to individuals who have the daily stamina to confront all they are up against in the REAL world and stop complaining so much.
If you actually work hard to help put someone in office who wins that office and you are THEN dissatisfied with their performance in that office, then you will have every right to complain, IMHO.
April 18, 2012 at 10:04 PM #741887KSMountainParticipantIsn’t it true though that the most passionate discussions on this board involve politics (or Jeff Bridges)?
In scaredy style: Passion is good.
April 19, 2012 at 6:37 AM #741890scaredyclassicParticipantif you truly want to emulate my style, you’re going to have to make it a little stranger on the lead-in.
I’d give you an example, but I’d rather you learn on your own.
