Seems they think rates will be lower in 1 year.
The markets see slower growth ahead.
SDCCU has a promotional 2.5% 16mo cd that is tempting. That should pretty good right? Don’t have to open an account in some internet bank.
The point is having a rate locked for 1 yr as opposed to just 3 months.

Anything below 3% imho is just not worth a year or more commitment. I’d rather “pay” by have slightly less interest for liquidity…
Money markets are around 2.4% right now, and I can move stuff in an out.. The difference.1% isn’t worth committing to a CD for me.
Going to costco and buying a bunch of See Candies Gift Certificate for a 1lb box of chocolate will probably outpace a 2.5% CD..
Buying a box of USPS “forever” postage stamps will outpace a 2.5% CD…lol.
