      Hi All,

      Which financial institution has the highest interest for 6 months for less CD? Looking for short term investment on 50K before using it as a down payment for a house. Thanks!

      How short a term? Since the CD rate is in APY here is the lineup for 1 year cds. Top of the list is E*Trade at 5.15%.

        I have my CDs with Countrywide bank, they are offering the highest rates now 5.50% APY for a 6 month CD. You just can’t do any better than that! They are DESPERATE for money and it’s FDIC insured so why do you care, go for it!!!

          I found one for 7% APY but you have to live in the Bay Area or know someone with an account with them to open your own because it’s a credit union.
