We are considering to buy a > $1.1M house with an elementary school right across the street. I believe it takes only 30 seconds to walk there. We have two small children who can attend that school in a year or two.
There are some traffic cones (not sure by the neighborhood or by the City) to block the entrance from the school to our street. However, I think parents can still spend an extra 3 minutes to go around the traffic cones and take the side streets to park next to our house….(would they really do it??)
In my opinion, paying $1.1 million for a house right across a public school is crazy. Firstly, you will have a lot o f traffic twice a day with a lot of noise and exhaust. Your kids will also have to cross the street which may not be always safe.Secondly, you’ll have a hard time selling the house.

I second the last two comments: A house across from an elementary school is likely not worth 1.1M. Definitely bubble price. (I think it may be probably up to 40% overpriced).
