Well, I tried really really hard to find a significant other that was made in usa…Unfortunately, I found that that to was either out of stock, outsourced, or beyond what my wallet could support… (Oh shit, I’m so dead for posting this)…
I have a few friends who have opted to commit to imports. I’m leaning in that direction too. ;)
As a “single person” looking at this issue from a pragmatic standpoint, I can tell you that (besides a preference for a partner 10-20 yrs. younger than they), the particular mentality (espoused by these two posters) has taken many “American-born” men out of “circulation” for “American-born” women. I’m not quite certain of all the reasons for this, except perhaps the perception that foreign-born spouses (who are presumably grateful to have a “green card” due to their sponsor-spouse) are more “subservient.” I would tend to agree with this concept but NOT that they are necessarily “lower-maintenance.” Many immigrant “wives” I come into contact with appear to be EXTREMELY high-maintainance in their choices of clothing, jewelry, weekly services used, vehicle they are willing to drive, etc. In addition, MANY refuse to live in an older dwelling if newer dwellings are available. These are just MY observations of many years but they support the notion that there is a price to pay for everything in this life.

July 20, 2010 at 3:37 PM #580470CA renterParticipantDitto those observations, BG.
Also, I think some of these wives, especially the Asian ones who are supposedly more “subservient” are really not all that subservient in the home. They can be very demanding! π

I would tend to agree with you on this, CAR, especially since they can be very demanding in business. :=}
