Gas skyrocketing is probably the last thing I would worry about, with at least 3 new plug-in models due in 2010 (I think we will see the first ones this september).
They just did a piece in Time (I think it was Time mag anyway) called cheap Oil forever as well so I think we are good for a while anyway (a few years at least).
