Of course Realtor’s are doing great – they always do. They cash in on our obsession with houses, the “American Dream” and the associated status with owning a house.
They win, you lose.
It’s setup that way…

April 24, 2009 at 7:59 AM #386643eclipxeParticipantI love when anecdotes are countered with facts.
“There was an INTERPRETER, the MEXICANS are overrunning the area!”
“I went to the mall expansion and I saw several youths wearing urban clothes, I thought I was in the worst area of Riverside or LA”
“Demographic shift!”
“Area is toast!”
There seems to be a lot of fear-mongering from folks regarding Temecula. I wonder why so many folks want to see the area fail? Good schools, low crime, clean and affordable. BUT wait, the area is *toast*, I mean here look at this graphic – there are thousands of foreclosures!! (yeah well look at most cities and you’ll see a similar picture), but wait – there’s Mexicans! (yeah, and our ESL percentages are lower than most of your best schools)…but no look, all of those people out shopping and enjoying their lives – they are only happy because they are foreclosed and living rent free! Don’t they know the area is TOAST??
Come on piggs…

April 24, 2009 at 8:10 AM #386653eclipxeParticipantOh and btw –
Here’s some anecdotal evidence of my own:
-RE business is on fire, the RE office I consult at has hired 10 new folks and leased a second office.
-Foreclosure up the street just sold for $103/sqft (I bought at $95/sqft)
-Apple store has been confirmed @ Mall (Temecula job listing back live on Apple site, interviews started)
-Ruby Tuesday is finishing construction and opening Summer
-Panera Bread construction is starting next month (across from Ruby Tuesday)
-Sonic Burger construction at intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs Rd and Margarita
-Lazy Dog cafe opening summer, across from PF Chang
—-
Yes, there is a lot of pain in the CRE market and there are plenty of vacancies in most of the larger shopping centers but there is also retail and restaurant growth still happening. If this is the kind of expansion and growth during the worst recession, in the “worst housing market” then I can’t wait to see what things will be like when there *is* economic growth or stability.April 24, 2009 at 8:10 AM #386916eclipxeParticipantOh and btw –
