I am pretty sure there is no one entertaining or sharing Temeculaguy’s views here, that has any notion of making a commission in Temecula. In fact, when we were suggesting last spring that a potentially good entry point was nearing, the only realtor on that thread risked being completely out to lunch with no possible to gain except for the satisfaction of helping some strangers get their fingers on the pulse of things. Believe what you want, you might be right, but defending your views because the people suggesting other possibilities are realtors doesn’t work in this case.

Do those folks who bought last spring still have their fingers or did the falling knife get ’em? Good entry point ROTFL.
[/quote]I don’t understand the drama here.
I don’t know, but I was suggesting waiting until later in the year and starting with aggressive 10-20% off offers to ease into it.I said the remainder of the downside,if any, could be a wash from there, on a well negotiated deal taking advantage of low interest rates.Since prices went down really fast I can’t really blame people for throwing the lowball offer idea out the window, if they did. I realized that would likely put people with serious possibilities of hitting escrow in early 2009 the earliest.Anyway, you said commissions were motivating the opinions and you were wrong. Clearly though you want to paint a picture that suits you. Go ahead.

April 27, 2009 at 2:12 PM #388315Rt.66ParticipantRussell I said opinions were motivated by having
“skin in the game”
OR, or, or
“stood to make a commission”.
You said:
“we were suggesting last spring that a potentially good entry point was nearing”
I was responding to that statement.
People who bought last spring likely lost the “fingers” they had “on the pulse”.

I had neither skin in the game nor did I stand to make a commission.

Doesn’t seem to say rush out an get you fingers cut off?In the context of price declines and years since peak, I don’t think it was too early to responsibly air this stuff out.See what I am saying? Then I explained the rest to you so now you know.
If you are referring to my skin in the game in Jamul, I bought/built this “move-up” property in 2004 and on, paying it off by selling my other place in 2005 took out some money and now I have two houses(when I get around to finishing building the other one).
While I understand that suspicion wrt “skin in the game” and agree that it should be taken into consideration, my skin is feeling nice. And if it were the “skin in the game” driving me to be insanely bullish. I think I would have started being rabidly so a long time before last spring, since I have owned properties consistently since 1992. Also, I would not select modest and low priced segments of Temecula, of all places, to show my “bias”.It is just not workable for me.
Have you fully considered your own potential bias?Do you NEED prices to fall further in a drastic way for some reason? This is kind of the reverse of skin in the game and I have seen it more than a few times.I am not accusing you, just asking.
