We see in the movie Back to the Future part two (1989), the character in “Biff Tannen” foretold the real life pop-culture news coverage persona of “Trump”
then in Elysium (2013) the SciFi movie, shows a future where humanity is sharply divided between the bourgeoisie (who live aboard a luxurious space station called Elysium) and the rest of humanity who live a hardscrabble existence in Earth’s ruins (i.e. pop-culture and the news coverage showing a bias view toward the 99%).

This weekend, outside Las Vegas, a group of Burning Man veterans put on a festival called Further Future, now in its second year. Across 49 acres of Native American land over three days, with around 5,000 attendees, the event was the epitome of a new trend of so-called “transformational festivals” that are drawing technologists for what’s billed as a mix of fun and education. While tickets started at $350, many attendees opted for upgrades to fully staffed accommodation and fine dining.
While Burning Man’s hidden luxury camps on the edge of town are criticized by old time Burners who value labor on the desert, Further Future is a splinter group that’s unapologetic about wanting a good, hard-labor-free time. “Unabashed luxury”, the website reads.
So to raise awareness of the growing chasm (in the one percent population), perhaps its time to market an appropriate bumper sticker so individuals in similar circumstances can adorn/brand their vehicle and commiserate
FYI read the top 1%, have a net worth of $5,000,000 or above, and — if working — make over $300,000 per year (which sounds like the average household in communities like La Jolla and RSF)
basically just wondering if anyone else ever noticed that one personal touch high end cars never seem to have is,… bumper sticker humor of and for the 1%
I know some in the 1% have an ironic sense of humor because recall seeing a Ferarri w/ a personal license plate “TAX THIS” a long time ago on torrey pines road (by UCSD)
