If you have a concern, why don’t you be an adult, and voice it to them when they come through to paint the curbs? It never ceases to amaze me, how, not only does the California Government stamp out small business, but even the citizens?
If the guy (or people) is taking his time to put out signs, and do a valid service for people, why, for the love of God would you try and hurt them? Do you REALLY believe that their tape is hurting peoples houses? Would you rather they just sat around smoking pot (it’s totally legal with a card here right?), collecting welfare, pumping out babies from numerous parents for society to take care of? Everything I just mentioned is totally legal, and doesn’t involved putting ANY tape on your stucco.
Don’t you ever wonder why small business struggles so bad in So Cal?
I think we have simply been too fat and happy for far too long. We have forgot about service, and struggle, and loving our neighbors. God help our country. Save us from us!

Holy crap, zombie thread resurrected. But I have to say I’m 100% in agreement, live and let live. Advertising real services shouldn’t be a crime, though it may be obnoxious.

I could use a new windshield on one of my cars, and I don’t feel like paying for it myself 🙁

…….Don’t know that the Chargers are going to be upset that their logo is being placed on the curbs of San Diego homes. One of my neighbors choose this option and it’s Charger baby blue and looks nice.
[/quote]Definitely sounds like unauthorized use of a trademark – unless they have a license, which I doubt. Suggests sponsorship or approval of the number painting company by the trademark owner. Trademark owners (unlike copyright and patent owners) have an affirmative duty to police their marks and stop unauthorized uses that might cause confusion. And NFL teams are pretty vigorous in defending their marks.

Every morning my house was PLASTERED with unsolicited “offers of help” – printed on neon colored paper for all my longtime neighbors to see – saying my home was in foreclosure (when it was not, yet). I can’t tell you how demoralizing and embarrassing this was for me. I called the company who posted they flyers – many times, asking them to please stop – top no avail. I called the police and was told it was not illegal for them to tape these obnoxious signs all over my windows, front door, patio doors – anywhere they could access (even by climbing a small fence onto my patio). It was really upsetting and there was nothing I could do about it. Hopefully by now the laws have changed, but I totally understand why you were unhappy with those who posted solicitations on your stucco wall. At least they used painter’s tape – my attackers were not so considerate. To this day. I cannot understand what would make one person think it’s okay to prey and attack another human being who is obviously in crisis already. In the end, I lost my home. It would have been better had I at least been able to preserve some level of privacy and self respect. Thanks to these monsters, neighbors I’d known for many years had a front row seat to what should have been a very personal matter. My son, now grown, still remembers his mother, in tears, going out in my robe at he crack of dawn each morning to tear down the signs left in the middle of the night. Nice.
