Phew… For a minute there I was worried you were going to complain about us generation X douchebaggery that enjoy pissing people off.
no – all of this commentary is towards the boomers. we think they are fussed about my wife being asian and our kids being halfsies.
Lol. If your wife is Asian, than you are definitely going to be in Carmel valley one way or the other. You are screwed. That is if you want to stay married. End of discussion. Get use to be the new white chinaman. Don’t worry, I am sure your wife will need to find a nice violin or piano teacher soon, and I know of a lot in Carmel valley. Because that’s what Asian moms want for their kids.

And like I said, depending on how Asian your wife is, you are going to end up buying in Carmel valley one way or the other. That probability increases exponentially the (for the lack of better word) FOBier your Asian wife is…. I bet that’s why you are in this location right now. I am sure you had very little in the decision making process. Am I right?

Dude, this is SD, not the deep South. Your halfsies ain’t that special. There’s one at every street corner.December 4, 2015 at 9:25 AM #791851CoronitaParticipant

December 4, 2015 at 9:31 AM #791852anParticipantYou’re coming off as someone who can’t truly afford CV but are trying very hard to make your wife happy and are getting pissed at how much you have to stretch to live in CV. If your wife have to work and both of your don’t have a Benz/Audi/BMW sedan as a daily driver, a Benz/Audi/BMW SUV to carry stuff and a Porsche for the weekend fun, you can’t truly afford CV. Get used to it. Sticker shock is a bitch when you can’t afford the stuff that you thought you’re entitled to have.
Yes, CV is not LJ. LJ, you don’t even fret about school, since you’ll be sending your kids to LJCD.
December 4, 2015 at 9:35 AM #791853CoronitaParticipantHere’s my recommendation for you. Go buy sfh in Mira Mesa right now. You should be able to afford that easily with cash. Your wife most likely will object, but give her all the projections and data we have about MM growing and up and coming and its a great long term investment for the next 5 years, when you can turn it into a rental when you are ready to move into Carmel valley. Your kid isn’t old enough to take advantage of the public schools in Carmel valley now anyway, so she will most likely want to send your kid to a Montessori preschool, like most other Asian moms want to do. So you have 5 years you can wait to see if home prices or inventory normalizes. You can pitch that with appreciation in MM likely, you can even sell the home 5 years later and capital gains is taklx free up to $500k. See, when you talk you your wife, you need to talk it with terms she understands. Finances and money.chances are she understands numbers very.well, and if you explain to her your plan, she will understand that Mira Mesa is a great opportunity in the short term and great.investment for the long term, with Carmel valley in 5 years time down the road.
December 4, 2015 at 9:38 AM #791854anParticipantStop it flu.
Don’t listen to what flu just said. That’s garbage talk. MM is a horrible place to buy, investment or otherwise. It’s the ghetto and people get shot all the time. It also have way too many walls, infested in lizards, and is unbearably hot during the summer and unbearably cold during the winter. Don’t buy in MM unless you want to lose your $.

I’m sorry – that’s ridiculous. I’ve never heard any such thing – and I am at the tail end of the boomers.
December 4, 2015 at 9:45 AM #791857FlyerInHiGuestFlu, for the record, professional money is not old money.
Old money spans generations. The professionals are just the gatekeeper class for the establishment old money.December 4, 2015 at 9:45 AM #791858CoronitaParticipant
Stop it flu.

Oh shit. Sorry you are correct. Yeah, what he said. Mira Mesa is a terrible place. You don’t want to be there too. Horrible.. To many questionable characters like AN. Don’t buy there too. Not good area to invest. Sorry my bad…

Flu will be pleased. One less potential CV buyer. And just for the record – the average CV home price is about $950k. You just can’t take being average – you need a gorgeous place on a huge lot. Boo hoo..
you sir, have me PEGGED. you must be from new jersey.
Ha – you don’t have me PEGGED. I’m not a “sir” and we moved from CV to NJ for 4 yrs and then moved back to CV. I picked my screen name during the moving process. Nice try, though.
