No kidding! – How about the comment he made about me making bad choices in realtors in the past. How did he come to that conclusion? I did not say anything like that. As a matter of fact, I rejected those who gave the slimey advice for exactly that reason – bad advice. No mistakes made here.. I am careful in my decision-making. SDR is pretty nasty towards the women on this board in particular… Whatever. Doesnt bother me. I’ve met his kind before, and am just happy I didnt marry anyone so volatile. He certainly must have known his views would be the minority on this board, so I welcome his comments, and tolerate his occasional slide into his rude manly-man thing. He often pops up with something interesting to say – and I think that is a benefit to the board. i just dont want to hear his unsolicited opinions of me. I didnt ask for his evaluation.
May 13, 2006 at 8:29 PM #25336powaysellerParticipantHis situation is understandably difficult. Realtors are in an industry of declining sales, and the years ahead are judged to be difficult by even conservative estimates. I try to be sensitive to his predicament, and this week I gave him 2 compliments, 0 insults, and ignored 4 of his name callings. That’s the score. So I’m the goody goody, but yet his behavior is not getting better. So please forgive if I digress this evening to having some impatience with his antics.
In the end, his choice to insult people instead of debating ideas is what brings these threads off topic, and makes him so entertaining to observe.
May 13, 2006 at 8:41 PM #25337sdduuuudeParticipantThis would have been the perfect time for you to stay out of it, but you couldn’t resist, could you?
May 13, 2006 at 9:14 PM #25338powaysellerParticipantsduuuude, you remain silent when he calls names to lostkitty and me, but become vocal only when we speak up for ourselves. Why?
May 13, 2006 at 9:16 PM #25339powaysellerParticipantBack on topic – does anyone have any other good sources to learn about the Fed? Insider stuff, like from PIMCO?
May 13, 2006 at 11:20 PM #25344tucker…Participantget info at
May 13, 2006 at 11:26 PM #25345sdrealtorParticipantYou two are too much. I pointed out that buying gas today rather than putting it off until tommorrow when prices are higher has saved me money. I debated your idea of buying only 20 dollars at a time as being ineffective and rather filling up often as being more effective when prices are going up rapidly. Pennywise, poundfoolish is name calling? You two are just silly. Uh oh…I called you silly.
May 13, 2006 at 11:36 PM #25347sdduuuudeParticipantHe didn’t call her any name. He merely identified a way that she could spend less money on gas. I thought it was good advice and you weren’t even involved in the conversation. Like I said – a great opportunity for you to keep quiet.
I’m so sick of you two bickering. Just about ready to call it quits on this forum because of it. You two are just like two bickering 13-year olds that have vendettas against each other.
I don’t know how old you two are, but I’m starting to think maybe 18.
Really. I’m sick of it.
May 13, 2006 at 11:44 PM #25349sdduuuudeParticipantThis seems like such a logical plan, perhaps you could stick to it:
“I found the best tactic is ignoring posts which are unprofessional. I call it the ‘tone of a gentleman’ litmus test, and only respond to posts which pass this test.”
May 14, 2006 at 5:06 AM #25357powaysellerParticipantI’m sick of people like you who only meddle when sdr is put in his place or are quiet and allow it to continue.
People like you are the primary reason I left the board before. It wasn’t just sdr,but the people who didn’t seem to mind the degenrative tone of his posts. The group think was a disappointment. Let’s see the men around here act like men and tell any misbehaving boys to shape up. I’m sick of the pussy-footing around!
May 14, 2006 at 8:42 AM #25363AnonymousGuestHas anyone seen the actual demand numbers for oil compared to the rise in the price of it? It is a startling difference. The actual increase in the demand is a far less percentage than the price change in the commodity itself.
I think that what will happen is that the Mortgage business and high oil prices will be blamed for the upcoming economic problems. After the fact, the politicians and the Spitzers of the world will do their grandstanding. They will bring action on these two sectors blaming them, for the debacle and the fraud that we all know is there right now.
This will solve nothing. Big oil is making big money for too many politicians, so they are not going to do anything about this until the run is over.
SDR and poway, I think might hate each other enough to actually get married! Are you guys husband and wife secretly?
May 14, 2006 at 10:56 AM #25373powaysellerParticipantYou know, I like getting along with people. I’m the kind of person who has a half-smile on my face all the time. I thrive with cooperation. Perhaps you have some tips for keeping more cooperation on this forum.
May 14, 2006 at 2:48 PM #253824plexownerParticipantAnd what if I am one of those “holders of that debt”?
Am I supposed to just roll over and take it in the shorts because America is living beyond its means and wants to pay the world with freshly printed dollar bills?
You are very casual about subjecting the ‘widows and orphans’ who have invested in the US Treasury Notes and Bonds to a steady decline in the value of their investment.
I hope for your sake that your pension plan, if you have one, isn’t holding any of “that debt”.
May 16, 2006 at 11:26 PM #25501kikiParticipantI have been reading this blog for a while now. I am a renter hoping prices will go down. I consider the postings in this forum very interested and I like that I can get points of view of sellers, buyers, agents, appraisers, wealthy people, not so wealthy, etc. With these info I will make my own decisions.
However, as sdduuuude mentioned, it is really getting silly this back and forth between PS and SDR. I am a woman and i never felt offended directly by sdr comments. PS, You get too involved that you misread/ misinterpret his comments (emails and blogs tend to be impersonal – the same line can be interpreted different )
I must said mentioning about his wife or him being happy or unhappy just puts you at the low level you claim he is.
Pleaaaasseee, if you do not like his comments, just ignore him, or shout out loud in your house, but do not write an aswer back that will only put more fire in an issue that will go nowhere. We are intellingent people and when sdr or any other person make an inappropiate comment, be 100% sure that we will notice and will have a opinion, we just not need to write it down.
Let’s keep this great form. I think you are a very smart person and find your posting very interesting and i am glad you came back but please, please stop it with non-market related comments.
