I don’t, but I got this from a person well connected to high ranking individuals in the health insurance field. We will have to see where it all falls out. I do think that health insurance companies are worried about thier financial existence right now.

March 25, 2010 at 6:50 PM #531315briansd1Guest
rich people come here for medical care, because we are the most innovative. Our innovation will decline very quickly now.
The rich come here only for the very best which will still be here and the cream of the crop will still come here.
For the routine, the rich go to Thailand, Singapore, South Africa, India, Israel, etc… Even rich Americans who pay out of pocket go to those countries.
As a matter of fact, my brother’s girlfriend just returned from Thailand where she did laser dermabrasion, laser hair removal and some minor cosmetic work. All cheaper than in USA with a nice vacation to boot.
A friend of mine went to Pakistan for a kidney transplant.
Charlie Rose had heart surgery in France of all places. That’s after consulting with his American doctor in New York.

As well they should be. Why do people need insurance when everyone has access to health care? All you need at that point is a bunch of clinics, hospitals, and doctors. I’d much rather see government money go to that than to a bunch of no-value-provided insurance companies.
