auction today

For fun the hubby and I took our kids to our first housing auction today. Back in August we had put a lowball offer of 305,000 on a very nice, almost new 2700 square foot home in RedHawk. Well, we were turned down quite rudely and were not surprised to see that the house ended up going to a private auction firm – Williams Auction. Today the house sold for 298,000! Ha! Lots of interest, over 60 people there and EVERYONE had something bad to say about the housing market and economy! One conversation I overheard had 3 guys discussing the housing market and they all agreed that it would bottom out around 2010 and stay flat for quite a while after that, barring a severe recession. It was quite an interesting experience, hubby and I felt some adrenaline and decided that it’s not a bad way to buy a house.

5yes, what street was it on? How did you find out about that auction? 2700 sq in Redhawk for sub 300k is exactly what I am looking for. I almost put in 300k offers on some Bank owned, on the market for six months stuff with list prices in the 370-380 range but they were pretty screwed up once I looked inside. Just name the street and I’ll know the property. Was that the only house being auctioned off?
Inquiring minds want to know. Do tell. If anything I want to use it as a comp when I lowball.
