“Unless you pay cash for a property you are renting money from the bank.
I’ll rent for the rest of my life before I overpay for shelter. I would rather have the freedom and extra cash, plus the knowledge that I’m not buying into the greatest fraud in human history.”Landlords love people like the one quoted above. We really do. How do you think we make all that $$$$$?
The need for shelter predates even the need for clothing. The only human need more basic than shelter, is food and water. Some people must really resent the grocery store!

Well, for the moment. It makes more sense to me right now to rent and invest the money I’m saving in shorting the banks and builders.
When the bottom hits I’ll buy. Then you’ll be left fighting over all the broke FB’s with sh!t credit. You know, the ones that trashed their houses before tossing the keys.
Don’t worry though, I’m sure they’ll make great tenants!

May 24, 2008 at 5:26 PM #211106La Jolla RenterParticipantI don’t think my landlord loves me all that much…
$3,650 in rent for a condo that was purchased in 2005 for $1.5M is most certainly nothing to love.
I do however pay my rent on time and take exceptional care of the place.
