    Tried it for the first time today…got it at BevMo. Not the authentic stuff from Europe with the grande wormwood but close enough I guess, a french brand called “Absente”. At first it was not that palatable since I like more of a fruity flavor and this tasted more like herbal medicine. But after a bit I think I grew on it, certainly is an acquired taste. The 110 proof is wow, and I heard the potent absinthe sold in Europe is 160 proof!!!

    I’ve had both the fake and the real stuff. I prefer the fake stuff. lol The real wormwood makes me hallucinate like crazy. It takes me places I don’t want to go.

    BevMo has a full display case full of that stuff. I don’t think they are the original “real” formulation.
