OX – I think Loony on SDL countered w/the bank after the inspection. Hers was highest and best and then she got the report and rescinded her initial offer, something like that. I don’t know the exact details, but the bank lowered the price. The bank had a lot of time invested w/Loony and I think rather than start the whole process over, and now an inspection report in hand made them reconsider.

August 10, 2009 at 11:23 PM #444006temeculaguyParticipantThank you jp, now i feel vindicated. If OX’s world were to crumble and I found him lying in the gutter drenched I his own urine I’d feel responsible, now I can defer blame. Plus it makes sense, god i hope it works.

Would you offer as much if you knew about the issues? If you are competing with another 11 people and some are really 100% cash (you don’t know unless you are the seller, do you?) it is likely that your initial offer was too high to begin with.
Are you using the guy who helped you sell the house, a different one or you went straight to the listing agent?
