Any idea what this means?

Good morning all..

We are beginning our search for a new rental. As part of the process after I find a place on Craigslist I go to the San Diego County site to look up the property's tax record to make sure the owners are not in default (trying to steer clear of a flip-gone-bad home that will cause us to be evicted right after we move in).

This property at 2505 Mango Way in Del Mar has a very odd tax record. Any idea what's up with this property?

It's an unsecured property and listed as "Property Type: State Boat".  Is it owned by the State?

Any opinion on whether or not it would be risky to rent this place?

Wonder if Mr. Pathman of Mango Way is the same Mr. Pathman of Accredited Home Lenders?

I am in the same situation as you – actually, looking at a house in the neighborhood: 13853 Boquita. How is the noise from I-5 in that area? If you feel like sharing some insights, email me at eaw555 at yahoo.

Mango can be noisy but Boquita is quiet unless its close to Dm Heights Rd

It looks to me like you found their tax record for personal property (a boat) that they registered in May 2006, not for the house.

FSD is correct doublewide. You looked up the boat they own.

I looked the address up on Realist. It comes up as a single family home. Purchased back in 02.

Don’t know how I screwed that up. I typed the Mango address into the county property tax database search field and that was all that came up – a property tax for a boat !

Guess I’ll try the Realist, if it’s available to non-realtors, in the future.
