You might even be able to pick up a E90 328 for less than a honda accord V6

ParticipantIf you’re looking in that size class, I’d through in the Cruze too. I wasn’t crazy about their initial photos, but I’ve ridden in one and they are damn nice. And they look hot in red on the street, too.
And a new Altima is about to come out…peek-a-boo spy photos so far are promising. Might want to wait to see what materializes there.

ParticipantTry costco. They sell at invoice +/- X where X varies depending on the car.
I have bought three cars using costco. Best way to go, I think. Then you don’t have to hunt for rebates, haggle, etc.

ParticipantYou do it online. I used Costco for my BMW which I bought CPO. When I went in I negotiated another $1000 lower. They also gave me $200 gift card for BMW swag from the dealers parts dept.

ParticipantI agree, if you hate haggling, Costco is a great way to go. But if you’re not afraid to use phone and email to contact dealers’ Internet sales reps, and have them compete for your business, then you can get at least as good a deal on your own than with Costco.
We recently bought a Subaru Forester. I called several local dealers and got their “best” Internet price. Then my wife remembered the Costco program and called them. Guess what, the Costco-affiliated dealer offered me the exact same price it had offered me when I contacted them directly. They said they couldn’t go lower than that.
As a frugal Pigg I first tried buying a used car, but most people simply don’t take good care of their cars. My 2001 Mustang and 2002 Forester still run like new and will probably last me another 10 years hassle-free… but then again, I wouldn’t sell my well-cared cars.

And use edmunds.com and truecar.com to findout dealer holdback and invoice to prepare and identify the current incentives, all of which should still come back to you.
We just bought a mini-van through Costco. Since we had test drove the main competitors the prior few weeks and gotten our ears talked off, the costco deal was worth whatever we didn’t save by haggling just in time and hassle savings.
We stopped in on Sunday of daylight savings day late with our toddler son and spent 45 minutes doing an additional test drive and verifying color choices. We then were showed the prices, the rebates, the financing deal and picked the one we wanted to hold until we came back in the week. We prephoned our information to the dealer and came back at the chosen, 30 minutes to do a final checkover of the car, verify paperwork, sign, and out the door with the new car.
1.9% financing, honda makes first payment, extra incentive $$$ and a price that smoked truecar.com’s ‘great price’.
They made money, we had a pleasant experience and got the car at a price better than I expected. Plus ironically, it’s more American made than the American minivans.

ParticipantI forgot to add… the Subie dealer closest to my house was able to beat the Costco Program’s price! Not only that, we found yet another dealer willing to beat my neighborhood dealer’s price. So we found not one, but two dealers who offered me a lower price than the Costco-affiliated dealer.
I was told that the dealer agrees to pay $200 to Costco for the referral, that is, if you close the deal.

ParticipantIt is hard to beat a Hyundai for value and warranty these days.
The new Nissan Altima is getting really good press so they may need to really discount any old ones.
My wife was able to bargain down the GMC dealer far below the Costco deal.

Any of you ever owned the car before?
Right now Toyota has $750 factory rebate.
I have got two offered prices from the dealer in SD, so far.
One is $21.245+fees
One is $20.950(dealer did not mention extra fees)
Do you guys think the $20.950 offer is a good deal? -
