We are looking to sell our house. We are finding that listing agents are not willing to reduce their commission at all. We are not the type of seller that needs a lot of hand holding. We listed before and the agent provided MSL presence, advertising and photos/virtual tour only. Once it was listed we did not hear from him much. We price competitively, are educated about the area/market, maintain the house in a meticulous manner, and are flexible re: showings. I could even take photos myself as I have experience.
I am wondering if Redfin would be a possibility for us. Does anyone have experience using Redfin (or similar) on the selling end? I am worried that agents will “boycott” our house (I know they aren’t supposed to, but….)
Or any other suggestions on how we can save a little bit of $$ in commissions w/o going FSBO?
I suspect that in this market, no agent can afford to boycott ANY property that is well maintained and being listed at a realistic selling price.
Based on what I’ve seen on the MLS, properties that are priced correctly for the market are definitely getting sold. It’s the 80% of the properties priced at the sellers “wishing it were ’05 or ’06 price” that are sitting gathering dust.
