Participant1989 sounds like a relatively new house still. Many of the houses in San Diego area are built in the 70s and are still holding up well. It’s to tell up front without a good inspection.

I’ve seen plenty of houses of that vintage. Some were pristine. Some were borderline uninhabitable. (One or two really were uninhabitable.)
