svelte, to clear things up, my husband and I have been under contract on the same short sale in Discovery Hills since the first week of June. During the wait for the short sale approval I got cold feet and convinced myself that it may be better if we just continue to rent. If we moved to another rental we would want to live in Encinitas or Cardiff where my husband and I grew up. We can not afford to buy what we want there, so we would have to resign ourselves to renting long term.
The same house that we are in escrow on for $330,000 in Discovery Hills would be almost double that 10 miles away in Encinitas.
Since then, my cold feet have warmed up and the short sale and our loan were finally approved and we are due to close in a couple of weeks.

Thanks LPJ, that does indeed clear it up. Buying a home is really rough and I darn near go bezerk every time we do it. My wife has already told me I might as well plan on dieing in our current home because there is no way in hell she’s going through that with me again. 🙂
You’ve made the right choice, Discovery is an excellent area, hold on tight and wait for the short sale to complete. Can’t wait to have you in our fair city…
I can definitely relate with your wife! My husband and I are beyond excited about moving to San Marcos and can not wait to raise our young boys there. It has become a real gem and just continues to get better and better. Thanks so much for your encouragement and kind words!
