Ah – that makes sense. Most people took seconds to cover the 20% and the second holders are screwed on short sales. But really, more screwed if foreclosure happens. Seconds should cooperate more. Something is better than nothing.

Now in our 40’s, with no loans or HELOC’s–and no plans to ever move–we know it was one of the best decisions we ever made–for us and for our kids. We’ve been able to give them a stable life in a place we love living.
