thanks russell. I tried that just for the reasons you said about demo, but they will not. Won’t even close without a backsplash behind the sinks. Including demo, $4600 is probably at least what it’ll cost me? I just hate to know I’m getting ripped off.

July 17, 2009 at 3:58 PM #433599anParticipant
It;s about 150 sqft of tile. Ceramic @ $5.25/ft. Standard installation with grout. I thought they wouldn’t charge so much for labor since they were already going to install the standard. I guess I did think they would, just pissed off that they did. So I wonder if it’s be cheaper to do it later.
Rough estimate, from my remodel… $5.25 x 150= $800 in materials. Ceramic tile installation should be around $4.50/sq-ft, so, $4.50 x 150 = $675 for labor. Demo should be around $1/sq-ft, so, another $150 for demo. You’re looking at around $1600-2000 max, for a basic tile install job. The more elaborate your design is, the more it’ll cost.July 17, 2009 at 3:58 PM #432860anParticipant
It;s about 150 sqft of tile. Ceramic @ $5.25/ft. Standard installation with grout. Does that install price include new green board etc? Any recommendations for tile people?
