ParticipantI’m late to this post but had to chime it…Welcome to the Club :>)
I’ve got a Beretta 9mm and I bought a .22 Revolver for my mom. My mom refuses to buy ammo for the .22 so I’ve been thinking of asking her for it back so I can teach my daughter to shoot w/ it.
I got the Beretta back in 1993. Lots of friends were buying Glocks at the time – never understood that one. Took a class through Mesa College down at the SDPD shooting range off 94 @ Home Ave. (what is that neighborhood called?) It was taught by ex-cops – I figured if I learned the rules from them I couldn’t go wrong. Got into a nearly disasterous discussion w/ one instructor when I asked him about the “clip” and he told me “a clip is something you put in your hair – this is a magazine honey” – I pointed out a magazine is something you read and I think he almost shot me ;>)
I used to shoot at Discount Gun Mart on Morena over by USD…anyone been there lately? I’ve been wondering what the minimum age is…
Last year in Santa Fe we shot skeet and that got my daughter hooked….figured I’d better train her now how to handle firearms safely.
As to home safety….We’ve got a pack of angry Chihuahuas….I swear these little dogs scare people more than knowing I have a gun would :>)

ParticipantSDR,
When it comes to fun I think the Mark 19 is just a little more exciting then the M2. You can’t beat the thump followed by a nicely laid out 20 foot kill zone. It is pure belt fed love.
