ParticipantFor a percentage of Realtors this news about agents having motivation and encouragement from “Real Estate Titan”, Fred Sands,to throw in the towel, is similar to foreclosure news for housing bears waiting to buy. Thanks Fred.

ParticipantThe problem is that prices need to be cut 25% or more. Most sellers will NEVER do that because of a variety or reasons, they don’t have the cushion or are simply arrogant thinking they “deserve” the price they are asking.

ParticipantKev, I won’t buy without a 40% discount or more from peak, but someone else will buy that 25% discounted property in a sea of 5-15% discounts. There are still a few buyers, and to sell you just need to have the biggest discount. I’m not saying that prices won’t come down by 25% or more eventually. I’m just saying that it will take some time, and until then houses offered at the biggest discount will sell.

ParticipantSands is a big boy and I think it is beneficial for him to tell most people something they already know. Fact is that so many licensed realtors are not practicing anymore and that trend will continue. Things will shake out because that is the way it works. If you cannot make money you cannot make money.
