Welcome back bgates! We missed you! Hope FL is treating you well.
Please do b- slap these conspiracy bozos a few more times, sir.
February 28, 2007 at 3:13 PM #46541(former)FormerSanDieganParticipantI really love threads like this.
It allows us a glimpse at the inner workings and perspective of people in matters other than economics. That way we can effectively evaluate their opinions on real estate and economic matters and understanding how their minds work, discount them appropriately.
February 28, 2007 at 3:17 PM #46542(former)FormerSanDieganParticipantOne more thing to ponder for all those nut jobs out there. This might be a good time to apply the principle of Occam’s Razor, which is roughly that “All things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be the best one.”
Case 1 – In a chaotic situation following a terrorist attack someone told someone else that they are evacuating a building in case it collapses, that person told someone else that they had to evacuate because the building had collapsed and that person told a reporter that the building had collapsed, in a classic conversation-chain.
OR
Case 2 – The US government orchestrates a phantom terrorist attack on the WTC buildings. A smaller nearby building is the target of a fourth aircraft that is accidentally taken down in Pennsylvania (possibly by a branch of the military that didn’t get the conspiracy memo). To make the thing seem more real, they use actual jet aircrafts on the WTC buildings and some other small projectile at the Pentagon, but claim that it too is a jet. Each of the WTC buildings involved were equipped with explosive devices to enable them to be imploded on cue, since they would no collapse on their own under the faked attack. A secret part of the government plans to release information to the BBC at exactly 4:57pm to let them announce that WTC7 has collapsed. They do this just in case nobody notices that the building falls down when they implode it. The government employee in charge of this release accidentally gives the information to the BBC before the building is actually imploded.

This is the most absurd topic I have ever heard, and an insult to everyone’s intelligence who visits here. If you hate the US that much, just leave, the borders are open.
February 28, 2007 at 3:47 PM #46545Dougie944ParticipantFinally some sense is being made around here. Case 2 is a slam dunk.
Really, what was to gain by downing WTC7….the 2 large buildings collapsing were not enough for our government to react to????
This is unbelievable that this is a topic at all. Does anyone else notice that the Feds cant keep anything a secret? Somebody always leaks and that happens in programs where far fewer people are involved in as opposed to what would have been a monstrous operation to stage that attack.
Do you not think that the mainstream media would kill for a story like this? Did you not notice that they would do anything to impeach Bush or fight the government in general??? Plus, it might just be good for ratings to air such a story. I think a credible story on the government backing 9/11 might just beat out another story about Anna and would make that reporter a cult hero and loaded for the rest of his/her life. I guess there isn’t much to be gained by breaking this story.
Instead, we keep getting routed to sites such as prisonplanet and liveleak. Nutjobs.
February 28, 2007 at 4:17 PM #46553gold_dredger_phdParticipantConspiracy theories about 9/11 are just an outgrowth of Bush-hatred.
The liberals lack for any sort of positive ideology so they have to resort to rumors, enuendos, “Vote early and vote often”, and conspiracy theories.
The liberals (leftists) are just anti-American. What will they do when Bush leaves office? I predict they will become even more shrill.
February 28, 2007 at 5:05 PM #46555sdrebearParticipantYeah… What you all said! We really could have crushed all these "nut-jobs" if only the BBC hadn't "cocked-up" and lost all 3 of their copies (in different locations) of the biggest event on the biggest day of the past 50 years in world history!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2007/02/part_of_the_conspiracy.html
(Response #4)
Guess someone over there figured they weren't important anymore.
Oh well, I guess we'll just have to continue to call these people "nut-jobs" and crazy conspiracy people instead of actually getting answers to the questions. Darn that BBC losing their tapes!!!
(What? BBC 24 news has a copy with time stamps on it? Awe Crap! Totally forgot about them.)
February 28, 2007 at 5:29 PM #46558BoratParticipantI think the “telephone” scenario is how the WTC7 collapse news spread from the site of the attack to the BBC news; no way were they a party to any inside information. All it would take is for one person in a fire captain’s outfit to tell some first responders that “The building is coming down — it’s been weakened by the fire. Go tell the other units to get back.” and the story would spread quickly to the emergency crews and media. There were many fire units from all over NYC and as long as his badge was from a different unit, they wouldn’t question his authority. After that, he just takes off his hat and jacket and disappears back into the crowd. No one ever remembers where they first heard the story, they just know that they heard it from someone…
Or maybe it actually did collapse from a fire. I’m no expert, it just seems really suspicious that’s all.
The BBC has conveniently lost their tapes, not because they’re part of any conspiracy, but because they are embarassed. They’ve been shown as being unreliable, they report hearsay without even doublechecking it.
February 28, 2007 at 8:16 PM #465644plexownerParticipantbgates – I don’t really consider myself an expert in anything
I am an aerospace engineer by education – I graduated with honors from one of the nation’s top universities
I am a software developer by profession
I have read a bunch of material about real estate and financial manias/bubbles
I learned enough about real estate to increase my net worth by a factor of 100 (that’s factor not percent) investing in San Diego real estate (and selling it before the bubble burst)
I have read almost everything I have come across about 9/11 and I have watched all the video clips too – I find that what the government is telling us doesn’t add up
The biggest ‘smoking gun’ in my mind is this: prior to 9/11 no metal-framed building had ever collapsed due to fire – there had even been several high-rise buildings that burned vigorously for hours without collapsing – and when the first metal-framed building in the history of the world collapses due to fire what happens? – the metal supports are taken to recyclers who agree to quickly process the metal instead of being taken to engineers who could analyze them and determine how we could prevent more metal-framed buildings from collapsing due to fire in the future
Glad I could provide you with some entertainment today

March 1, 2007 at 4:46 AM #46594AnonymousGuestSince your’re the latest entrant into the fray, Michael, I shall direct my comment towards you. First, a few questions:
1. Who was the executive director of the 9-11 commission?
2. What was his previous job experience?
3. Name the co-chairs of the 9-11 commission.
4. Which member of the 9-11 commission resigned in disgust?
5. Who replaced him?
Five very easy questions, and ones you didn’t even have to read the 9-11 commission report to answer. If you could not answer those five questions off the top of your head, Michael, you’ve got no business defending the official story because you haven’t a clue what it is.
Guess what? I have read it. It sucks. Guess what else? I’m an eighth generation American. My great, great, great, great, great, grandfather served in the Continental Congress. So anyone telling me to get out of the country for questioning my government can kiss my ass.
March 1, 2007 at 11:16 AM #46629Dougie944Participantlet me ask…
Why no leaks from anyone involved???
Why no mainstream coverage???
Being an 8th generation American makes you no more of an American….nice try though.
March 1, 2007 at 2:38 PM #46659AnonymousGuestDugie944 Don’t post that crap on here. Pathetic. I hope you live in a dark dank sewer some where so that you aren’t forced to endure human contact. The fear of contracting an alien disease may be too much for you.
