ParticipantWish gas could go to $50 a gallon
Just so these tree huggers, global warming alarmists could shut up and stay out of the news.
Ever wonder how these me-so-enviro-friendly-than-you folks are going to get to their exotic tourist destinations if fuel gets so expensive? Kayak to Hawaii? Walk to Alaska?

ParticipantI can dump peanut oil in it, about $5 a gallon @ Costco.
I think that provides a significant upper bound on price of motor fuel. If it goes well above vegetable oils, people can substitute and that would strain food supply till agriculture can adjust to it.

ParticipantWell, I guess the good news is that GM is doing one heck of a deal on cars these days. 0% financing + cash rebates of up to $8k, the “Please take our cars off our hands” sales strategy
Pretty soon, it will be -1% financing + cash rebates, the “please, we’ll pay you take our cars off our hands” sales strategy.
