ParticipantThey already have an accepted offer for awhile now and they’re just waiting on the negotiator and appraiser. They’re not taking backup offer. It’s a total fixer w/ leaky roof, abandoned landscape, messed up kitchen and baths. It has been abandoned for about a year.

GuestThis neighborhood north of Cristobal is certainly much better than south of Mira Mesa Blvd. The houses are a decade newer also.
Like someone said before, you can do it yourself… What’s a small leak and some cabinets? You can do it yourself for a few thousand dollars.
The enjoyment of modding and customizing your house. π
That was the homeowner’s principal residence also according to the tax bill.
Purchased on 07/27/1993 for $208,990 near the previous near “bottom” of 1996.
So much for the lifetime opportunity and leaving it to your kids in Mira Mesa. Granted, this FB is not Asian. Maybe that explains why π (just joking in case the humor didn’t come across).

Participantbriansd1, yes, this area is the nicest area of MM. This house in 1993 was sold for $99/sq-ft, while a similar house w/ 1 less garage in 1994 was sold for $89/sq-ft. Brand new vs 10 year old (at the time), 3 car garage vs 2 car garage, 1993 price vs 1994 price. Was that enough to account for 10% price difference? I was going to buy this one too if it wasn’t for the pesky fact that it’s already pending. How do you think I know all those details about the house. It’s a short sale and they already got an offer accepted and already got a negotiator assigned. They’re just waiting for the lender to send out the appraiser. They had all of this done well before this house ever got on the market. They’re not taking back up offers, so I can’t even get the listing agent to represent me. Imagine that, an agent declining double dipping of fees. Make you wonder if this was an inside deal, huh?
So, briansd1, I know what you’re trying get at, but you’re failing miserably. I was going to offer well above the high end of the range, yet, I can’t even do that. Would have been a perfect opportunity to leave my kids 2 houses instead of just 1.
