When I was attending SDSU more than a decade ago, this neighborhood was full of student renters. Many homes housed up to 8-10 students (2-3 per bdr and sometimes even dining room was partitioned). Driveways were full of cars spilling into the street and nights were often not quiet.
Not sure what’s the deal nowadays. You should drive by the community on both weeknights and weekend-nights to see if the student issue is now more under control. Or maybe that IS your intention; investment property for student renters. If so, it’s a great location.

Limited membership, it does cost money, but there is a pool, tennis courts, and other amenities. On the downside is that looking at the map of the property it is at the END of the cul-de-sac next to the park, so likely you need to deal with the park noise, traffic, and neighborhood kids (not gang bangers) that loiter or go there after hours.
Freeway noise in that area could potentially be an issue. Otherwise that is more of a family area and not much of a student housing area. Freeway close, shops and stores, walk to the park, but no view. Homes in that area of Del Cerro are much more compacted and close to each other.
Got to love those square yellow kitchen tiles. Looks like a rather intensive remodel project.

February 5, 2009 at 8:43 AM #341144waywardalParticipantI know this area well. I grew up close by.
Plusses; Del Cerro is a nice area, in general well kept homes with good people both young and old. Windmill Farms grocery store near by. Good elementary school. Fairy close to all San Diego has to offer. This house is next to the Neighborhood pool and tennis court. You have to become a member to use it but it is conveniently close.
Minuses; This micro area is the bottom both geographically and economically. and feels that way when you are in the area. The park does not have a real play area for kids except inside the pool area. The rest of the park is open to the public but seems to be full of over grown trees and bushes and does not seem well maintained except inside the club area. I would not want my kids going through the park alone. Being close to I-8, there is quit a bit of freeway noise at night.
