That’s more like it, although it’s still not that impressive considering it’s PUSD. I just toured a couple of Montessori schools and they are already starting multiplication and division in 1st grade. They do addition and subtraction around 5-6 years old.

I’m guessing the problem is the poster sent their kid to a Montesori Kindergarten program and then to a public school kindergarten. I actually did that with my son. He was coutning to 100 and doing addition and subtraction as well as reading pretty well on the first day of kindergarten. That head start has stayed with him throughout. Some of those Montesorri programs are amazing. My son still remebers his teacher as the best he ever had.
