I’d put my chips on 3Roots too if they let me ;-). But Stone creek will have similar vibe, but it’ll just be denser. But they have plans for trails and a town center too, so that will be beneficial to the people living in the Southeast part of MM and the trail system supposed to connect w/ 3Roots’s trail system too (we’ll see about this one), but that should be nice if they do.

Stone creek probably have more lizards. They might be of the lower quality kind too. But still a step up in the lizard pecking order compare to the older part of MM.
The city is planning to rezone MM with an addition 18,000-24,000 units additional beyond 3 Roots and Stone Creek.
I don’t think MM will be recognizable if anywhere near the number of those units go in.
And there are all these massive retail parking lots which are begging to be redeveloped with some amount of green space. For background, lived in 8 countries over 20 years, the amount of land wasted here is mind boggling.
San Diego is better than many parts of the US but how many shopping centers do we have from 1960s and 1970s which are oversized so we can have 50 types of potato chips to choose from.
A couple of mass have limited underground parking which is closer to how things could be but still far from efficient land use.
Besides, what’s wrong with mixed use (retail/office/housing in one).
