I say let ’em go and make further cuts. If DMV is only open 3 or 4 days a week, fine. If schools have to cut out a month or two of classes, fine. If other government-related offices are only open 3-4 days a week, fine. Sure, there will be some inconvenience. But we simply don’t have the money to pay for all of this shit. Never did. Other countries and their populations manage on a small fraction of the post-cutback government we’re looking at. We’ll survive. And we might actually learn a few things from this sordid episode. Let’s tighten up those belts. It’s been a long time coming.
