CoronitaParticipant
$380 is the regular HOA fee for this complex Creekside and an additional $180/month special assessment for 5 years. This will bring the total monthly due to $560/month.
I could not access their budget and reserve study but I would not be surprised to see zero reserve and a deficit in their current spending. This complex is just badly managed. I do not have the numbers but I suspect that less than 50% are owner occupied and make it difficult to get loans.
$560/month HOA for a 1 BEDROOM/1BATH in Mira Mesa?
Wow, talk about HOA mismanagement. I think this is one fine poster child of what can go wrong with a condo purchase when the HOA is screwed.
Edit
Borrowing $67k at 5% is like $360/month. The HOA is much more the mortgage. LOLApril 9, 2009 at 9:20 AM #378629

ParticipantI like the “parking: None Known” comment. My GF use to live in the area and that about sums it up perfectly.

ParticipantWhat is up with the ONE photo attached to the listing?
A nice shot of a blank white wall and glimpse of a stove! If that’s the best of that condo, keep moving.
It looks like someone is in distress. Purse in the chair, car keys and cell phone thrown on the table over a myriad of paperwork and stats. It really looks like they said “That’s it, I’ve had it”, stood up, picked up their camera, walked around the table, snapped a photo, and decided to sell their POS.
