[quote=Zeitgeist]It is about HEALTH CARE MORON AND IT IS THE ECONOMY STUPID. START LISTENING TO THE VOTERS!
“White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod incorrectly claimed that Republican Scott Brown “didn’t run one ad on health care in the entire campaign” against Democrat Martha Coakley. In fact, a Brown campaign TV spot attacking health care legislation ran heavily in the days before Tuesday’s Senate election in Massachusetts.”
“During the interview, Axelrod said that he didn’t feel the election was about ‘that one particular issue’ and that ‘there is a tendency in this town … to overblow things, even beyond their importance. Nevertheless, the administration gets the message sent by the outcome in Massachusetts.'”
Those are Republican talking points. Right-wing republicans never would have voted for Kennedy, and those are not the votes that were lost.
From my perspective as a fairly left-leaning voter, the voters in MA were letting the Dems know that they are not happy about the way the bailouts are going. The bankers/capitalists have pillaged this country, promoting the offshoring of jobs and magnifying the wealth disparity exponentially. THIS is what the Democratic voters were trying to convey. We need to move away from letting the REIC run this country, and we need JOBS and legislation that will support MIDDLE-CLASS WORKERS.
BTW, you are aware that Kennedy was a staunch supporter of health care reform, right? The voters did not turn on the Dem party because of health care reform (though many are/were opposed to the insurance company give-away that is the current legislation). They want to see a stronger middle class and they want JOBS.
