Yeah, if you’re planning on being there a while, having a backup wouldn’t hurt. My spring was only 4 1/2 years old. But it was installed by Pardee, so it’s possible it wasn’t done correctly. If you get a backup, might as well get some purpose-made winding bars while you’re at it. Cheap insurance against an accident caused by an incorrect bar slipping out.
